The 1st Twyford Scouts Donkey Derby is a firm fixture on the village calendar. And this year it coincides with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. So to mark the occasion, everyone is invited to bring a picnic and have a Big Jubilee Lunch. What’s more, if you’re a local organisation, business or charity, you might like to advertise in the programme, sponsor a race or book a pitch…

How do I advertise or sponsor a race?

The Donkey Derby draws over 3000 people each year. It presents a great opportunity to raise your business’ profile and get involved in the community. To advertise or sponsor a race, contact John March on 0118 934 0584 or e-mail johnmarch58@btinternet.com. The deadline is 1 May, 2022.

When and where is it?

Sunday 5 June at King George’s Field. Gates open at 12:30pm, the first race is at 1:30pm and the event winds down at 5pm.

Is there an entry charge?

Entry is free.

What attractions are there?

Aside from the donkey races, there’ll be a wide range of stalls supporting local organisations, charities and businesses, beverages and homemade cakes from the refreshment tents, the scouts’ BBQ, Maidenhead Concert Band and all the fun of the travelling fair.

How much does it cost to book a pitch?

Stall hire is £30 for businesses and £15 for local community groups and charities. Pitches are approximately 3m wide and exhibitors must supply their own table, chairs, gazebo and display boards. If you decide to book, please note that we have an initiative to make Twyford more environmentally friendly so bear this in mind when considering items used, prizes etc. To book a stall, contact John March on 0118 934 0584 or e-mail johnmarch58@btinternet.com.
