The Colleton primary school are looking for residents in the local community to join their Governing Body – particularly those with the skills/knowledge to sit on the Site and Buildings Committee and/or PR Committee. All skills will however be fully utilised. The Colleton Primary is a school for 4-11 year olds in Twyford and has 380 pupils. Governors have an important part to play in raising school standards by providing strategic leadership, support and accountability in schools. Gardening activities have expanded greatly since the work to provide an insect friendly area at Jubilee Corner was completed. Our sites include Polehampton Corner, Twyford library, Stanlake planter, planter at Bell Corner and the Millenium flowerbed/border in the Parish burial ground at St Mary’s church. We urgently need more volunteers to help maintain these areas in our village.
