Mobility Project

What was the purpose?

Since 2013 The David Brownlow Charitable Foundation (DBCF) has worked with Twyford Together to help residents become more mobile and regain their independence. Many residents in the village struggle with physical movement, which can result in them being confined to their homes. This can lead to them becoming lonely and susceptible to depression.

The DBCF assists by supplying mobility equipment, including electric wheelchairs and scooters, which is personalised to the needs of the individual.

Since 2013 over 30 electric wheelchairs and scooters have been provided to local residents who were in need of financial support. These wonderful pieces of equipment have given their new owners an opportunity to leave their home, visit friends and get around the village.
