On Thursday 13 August Twyford Together presented an online conference. “Twyford: Life After Lockdown” was aimed at helping local businesses and charities. Several experts in their fields gave short presentations with tips, advice and suggestions to help people now what is available.
Rob Yeadon provided advice on grants available from government and important dates that SME’s should be aware of. Stephen Conway provided information on the actions taken by Wokingham Borough Council. Alex Barfield provided his tips for local charities, many of who has seen huge drops in their revenue. Graham Winder, a Change Expert, provided advice on the nature of change and also pointed out that change can also be a time of opportunity. Helen Winder encouraged SME’s to invest in video, including how to use it to market themselves better to the local community.
Neil Cartwright, blogger for Taking Back Monday and who organised the event with help from Helen, said, “This was the first in a series of online events. We want to use video to provide a simple and convenient way for the community to come together and share information. No software is required to join the webinar and everyone can watch the video after the event, meaning we can build a valuable repository for local advice.”
