Twyford Together Community Awards Shortlist

Fanfare please ... In no particular order, the following businesses, groups and individuals have been shortlisted for our new 2018 community awards. Congratulations to all, and a big thank you to everyone who nominated candidates - we had a fantastic response!

You can find out who the winners are at our awards evening on Monday 24 September at Buratta's. The community awards will be handed out from 7pm after the presentation of our annual Edwin Ackers Business Awards. If you would like to attend the community awards, please arrive during the break at 6.45pm. The Community Awards are sponsored by Westgate Electrical Services Limited, the awards evening by RG10 Magazine and the Edwin Ackers Business Awards by Ackers Solicitors Ltd. Community Award finalists and eventual winners were chosen by a panel of independent judges who reviewed all the nominations from the public.

Business of the Year:

Music Made Fearless, Emma's Kitchen, Newdays Pharmacy.

Citizen of the Year:

Twyford Parish Council will be announcing the winner of this award on the night.

Young Citizen of the Year:

Kitty Holmes, William Hawkins, Cara Winterburn.

Volunteer of the Year:

Gerry and Chris Wise (Twyford and Ruscombe Local History Society and Adopt-A-Street), Bill Barnes (Church warden at St James Church, Ruscombe), Tilly Lesley-Anne Harris (1st Twyford Scouts).

Community Group of the Year:

Twyford Twinning Association, Wings for Single Parents and their Families, Wargrave and Twyford Community First Responders.

Event of the Year:

Twyford & District Round Table Bonfire & Fireworks Night, Twyford Together Christmas Fayre, 1st Twyford Scouts' Summer Fair and Donkey Derby

Sports Person of the Year:

Dean Cooper (Twyford Comets), Anna Boniface (Athlete and Marathon Runner).

Twyford in Bloom Award:

The Colleton School, Wendy and Ian Stafford, Graham Starkie (Heritage Osier Beds)
