Twyford Together Community Awards, 2019

Who are your unsung village heroes? Now's your chance to let us know. Twyford Together invites you to nominate candidates for our second annual community awards from 3 May. The awards are sponsored by Westgate Electrical Services Limited, RG10 Magazine and Ackers SolicitorsNominate as many individuals, groups or businesses as you like but make sure you support your candidate(s) by outlining your reasons. This will form the basis of the judges’ decision.  Please complete one online form per nomination. The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday 14 June, 2019.

Edwin Ackers Business of the Year

Which local business in RG10 goes the extra mile, above and beyond what they need to do, to provide their service? (Named in memory of the founder of Ackers Solicitors, always a keen supporter of local businesses.)

Citizen of the Year

Help the Parish Council determine their winner by bringing to their attention any Twyfordian who gives considerable time and effort to assisting their fellow citizens.

Young Achiever of the Year (aged 11–25)

Someone aged 11 to 25 who has achieved something outstanding in education, sport, the arts or benefiting others.

Volunteer of the Year

That special someone on whom others depend – such as a neighbour who regularly offers a helping hand, or the linchpin of a local non-profit group.

Event of the Year

The RG10 area has plenty of annual events and new one-offs each year too. In the last 12 months, which has struck you as particularly enjoyable and why?

Your favourite club, society, association, or other interest group – but don’t forget to state your reasons!

Community Sports Award

Who deserves recognition for promoting sport or fitness activities in the community? They could be setting an example as a team player or individual athlete, or perhaps a committed coach or other advocate/facilitator.

Environment Award

An individual or initiative dedicated to improving the environment we live in, whether through protecting the natural world, enhancing public spaces via Twyford in Bloom, or educating others.

Twyford Together

Determined by the Executive Committee of Twyford Together.  This will be the group, business or individual deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to Twyford Together activities over the past year.

Any individual, group or business nominated must be based within the boundary of RG10. Winners and runners-up in each category will be decided by an independent panel of judges and invited to the Twyford Together Community Awards ceremony at Buratta’s in Ruscombe on Monday 15 July.
